The three Principals of Narrative Ink are also the primary production team for Medusa’s Daughter, Narrative Ink’s first story endeavor.
Jonathon Scott Fuqua (Creative Director)
Fuqua is an award winning author of four much lauded, award-winning young adult novels, The Reappearance of Sam Webber (ALA Alex Award, School Library Journal Best Book of the Year, Booklist Editor';s Choice, and more), DARBY (Oppenhiem Toy Portfolio Platinum Award, Book Sense Top 5, Mark Twain Award finalist, Today Show selection, and more), The Willoughby Spit Wonder (BookPage Notable Title, 2004, A Wisconsin Reading Association Selection 2005), and his new novel, King of the Pygmies, which came out in the fall of 2005 (a Junior Library Guild Selection, an American Library Association's Best Book of the Year nominee, a Teen Reads Selection, and more).
For teenagers and adults, he has written a “groundbreaking” graphic novel, In the Shadow of Edgar Allan Poe, which was nominated by YALSA as a Popular Paperback for Young Adults as well as nominated for Best Graphic Novel of the Year by the Comic Buyer's Guide. And for young children he has penned Catie & Josephine (a Washington Post Book of the Week) an innovative graphic/chapter book that might be the first of its kind.
In the coming years, he has another novel, Story of Me, coming out with Candlewick Press and Gone and Back Again to be published by Soft Skull Press in the summer of 2007.
He has won three Maryland State Arts Council Fiction Writing Awards, and all of his published books are available nationally and internationally. He has been an illustrator, historian, teacher, and playwright, while dealing with dyslexia all of his life.


Steven Parke (Artistic Director)
Parke is an award winning illustrator and photographer. His clients have included fortune 1000 firms such as Warner Brothers, HBO, Discovery Channel, Arista Records, DC/Vertigo Comics, Tab/Mcgraw-Hill and a-list entertainers such as Prince (for approximately 13 years), David Bowie, Bon Jovi and AC/DC. In addition, Parke was the digital artist for the first-of-their-kind graphic novels I, Paparazzi, and the highly lauded In the Shadow of Edgar Allan Poe. Most recently, Mr. Parke was the chief photographer and illustrator for a leading edge project from Marvel Comics, tentatively titled 1985 and utilizing the “sequential photography” technique to tell a story. An industry pioneer and an advocate for sequential photography, Parke has begun to put in a great many hours on the creative projects of Narrative Ink.


York Eggleston, IV (Business Director)
Eggleston is a seasoned business executive in areas of traditional and new media as well as finance. In 1992, Eggleston co-founded Outta, The Nocturne Filmworks, an independent production company that developed films such as La Boheme D';Afrique. Additionally, Eggleston was a consultant with Booz-Allen & Hamilton in their media, communications and technology practices, before working in finance with Salomon Brothers and Schroder Ventures in London. Most recently, Eggleston was a co-founder and CEO of Zenspace, Inc. an online media property for the $190 billion event and planning industries. Currently, Eggleston is the CEO of Crave Technologies, Inc. a search marketing firm with offices in Baltimore and Boston. Eggleston sits on the board of several media companies, and UMBC Entrepreneurship Center. His upcoming book tentatively titled, Entrepreneur's Journal, is due in the fall of 2006. Eggleston is an honors graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
